About us

The Harris is a Museum, Library and Art Gallery all under one roof in the centre of Preston - free to enter. It is a magnificent Grade 1 listed building which was established in 1893. It has it all! Fine Art, Decorative Art, Costume, Textiles, History, Contemporary Art and more!

Our voluntary roles are quite varied - some are fairly permanent whilst others can be one-off. We encourage all ages and all abilities to get involved with us and we will try to match you up depending on your skills and interests with something that is just right for you.

Keep your eye's peeled and check in here regularly for new opportunities, events and projects to get your teeth into!

Please do get yourself signed up if you haven't already and we look forward to having you on board.
