An hour or two

Harris in the City, 12 – 4pm, 27/08

Join us for a very special fashion event - showcasing fabulous frocks from Horrockses X Joanie. Many of these new designs are inspired by original Horrockses Fashions dresses from the 1940s and 1950s, dresses which are in the Harris Museum collection. The Harris is lucky to care for the most extensive Horrockses Fashions collection in the UK. As we continue to tell the story the Horrockses brand in the 21st century - we are delighted that after this event 5 of the Joanie dresses will enter the museum's collection to be preserved for the future. Be part of this very special event when this takes place! Why not come along in your own vintage inspired threads and join the show?

What's involved?

We would like at least 3 volunteers on the day to help us meet and greet the public, to help us facilitate the event and to market other events happening in the future. We are working with the community and would like you to get involved and help us to reach out to more of the public and to make us accessible even when the Harris is closed.

Staff need to be at the flag market 15 minutes before each event to be ready and organised for the rest of the day.

Why get involved?

This is a great way to get out and meet new people, have fun and let loose. Experience new things with the Harris and have an enjoyable day out.
