Be part of an enthusiastic team of volunteers who will plan and deliver activities for families in the Harris. We want to offer family sessions as a regular part of the Harris programme and would like your help. You will work with fellow volunteers and Dawn, our Programme and Learning Officer, to plan, prep and lead the activities to inspire a new generation of Harris visitors.
What's involved?
- To start with, we will meet up as a group to talk about possible activities and split into teams to work on the ideas.
- You will develop ideas for activities for families, to be shared with the wider group. You can suggest any activity that links to the Harris in some way, the wider the range, the better!
- We will plan a rota of activities for weekends and school holidays, or weekdays in term time if there are ideas for pre-school groups. Activities can be repeated.
- The teams will prepare examples and help to source any materials needed for the activities.
- We will need small teams of volunteers who can deliver the activities as part of the rota.
- You will be friendly, welcoming and happy to work with fellow volunteers. Experience of working with children would be helpful, but not essential.
Why get involved?
You will be planning regular activities for children and their parents/carers as part of the Harris programme, helping to make it more varied.
You can share skills and interests with our family visitors, you might even learn something new yourself.
You will get to work with other volunteers and our visitors
You will develop your communication skills.
You will gain experience of planning and leading activities
