Please come along on this lovely little tour of Lancashire Conservation Studios which will have a special focus on things that are being conserved from the Harris' Collection. We are told over 90 objects are there being conserved!
The tour is for an hour and a half and our group will be split into 2. So that will be 2 groups of 10 people. One group will go with Mike who is the painting conservator and the the other group will go with Jenny who is the objects conservator. Then you will swap and change. It should be really good and you will get to see conservation in process - one thing in particular will be Clytie who is shown in the photo here. You should get to see a range of things and possibly things you havent seen before. Each thing will be in a different state of conservation development.
After the 2 tours we will gather as one group and have teas and biscuits together and a good old chat.
What's involved?
Walking round the studios and taking everything in
Having a chat with specialist staff about their work

Why get involved?
It will eye opening to see the conservation work that is taking place and will help you to get a good understanding of what is going on behind the scenes in preparation.
It will also be good to be together as a group and get to know each other a bit more
