An hour or two

Helping and supporting visually impaired people

Join the Harris team to welcome a group of adults and their guide dogs back to the Harris! Support and help our friends from Galloways and the Visual Impairment Forum to enjoy their visit to the max.

The visit is on Friday 28th November 10.30am and their main destination is the Wallace and Gromit Exhibition "A case at the museum". It might be a big group of 30 plus dogs and we are going to run a tour of the exhibition twice. Alan the curator of the exhibition will lead the tour with the brilliant Anne Hornsby from Minds Eye Description Service, being the "eyes" for the group. To find out more about her work, have a look here:

Your role will be to help the group and that could be guiding them around if you feel comfortable with that; talking to them and being friendly; telling them a bit about the Harris if they ask and maybe even suggesting that one or two of them might like to join us as volunteers. You will be able to enjoy the dogs too and stroke them on their break.
