Interesting things that are being run by you!

Thank you for your interest in the challenge. We've already filled all our volunteer spaces for this challenge but please take a look at our other challenges.

Volunteer tour guides and talks

First meeting: Tuesday 6th May at 4pm til 5.30pm at the Preston Town Hall.

We know how much you love the Harris and how much knowledge, skills and passions you have to share with visitors. We are looking for up to 20 volunteers to make up the Harris one and only talks and tours volunteer team.

This will be part of the Harris' regular programme. We will meet to discuss with you what subjects you are interested in, when you want to deliver talks and tours to the public and how often. Have a think about the different types of visitors that might be the audience, for example: families, adults, young people, people with special needs, people with disabilities, people from different cultural backgrounds.

We want to hear from you which parts of the Harris collections you are passionate about and feel confident researching and sharing with the public when the Harris reopens.

You dont need to have previous knowledge just be passionate about a subject, theme, style, object, technique, era, artist etc etc etc.

What's involved?

- Delivering talks or tours in the Harris throughout September to December 2025

- Choosing your areas of interest to research from the Harris Collections

- Deciding which days and times work best for you for delivery
