Harris Volunteers meeting and social - Saturday 26th April, 11am - 12.30 at Brew and Bake cafe
Come along to our Harris volunteers meeting and catch up with what has been happening at the Harris every other month on Saturday mornings.
We have returned to the cafe Brew and Bake in Preston which is at the back of the Preston Market, not far at all from Preston bus station. We use a little private room in the cafe so we can hear each other and all the drinks and cakes for the meeting are paid for by the Harris. If you get there before staff then just tell the counter you are a Harris volunteer and they will add it to our bill.
The meeting is the chance to see or meet for the first time other Harris volunteers, have a catch up and a natter, get updates from Harris staff about what is going on in general and also give your own updates to everyone (this is optional!) on what you have been volunteering on for the Harris.
Usually we have an update from one of our senior managers either in writing or in person - this is a good way of keeping yourself connected to the Harris especially whilst we are closed. They usually give an update on developments going on inside the Harris building and where all that is up to.
We like to hear from you and see you so that you can share with us the things you are pleased with and anything else - including things that you feel are challenging or not going so well. That way we can give each other support and generate ideas based on our shared experience.
It can be a nice little treat on a Saturday morning too, meeting in a cafe and having a good old chat - gets you prepared for a good weekend ahead.
